Men could become knights, farmers, or craftsmen like their fathers or join the Church as monks or priests. One of the most effective ways of getting accurate information is to call a third party that would anonymously conduct a survey and would gain workplace information from the employees (Mondy, Noe, Premeaux, 2002). The third party can then share the collected information with the CEO and the CEO can then use that information to improve the faults and improve the work conditions. The managers working at mid-levels in the organisation need to understand that it is the responsibility of the managers to look after the human resources that is working under them and they cannot merely consider it as something that is not in their job description or specification. The seminars would also help them in gaining some important knowledge that would help them in managing the human resources so that even they can help the senior management in optimizing the workplace performance. Lastly, the CEO of the company, with the help of various departments, should design a performance management system as soon as possible. The performance management system can be based on a number of key performance indicators that would help in measuring the right behaviour and performance aspects. But in several Supreme Court Cases, the judges have ruled in favor of a certain decision by stating that people of the United States have a Right to Privacy. The answer is, that they imply the power based on several of the already predefined amendments. In the Supreme Court Case, Gideons vs. Connecticut (1965), the Court ruled that the Connecticut law stating that no contraceptive may be used. The plaintiff argued that they should not be penalized for something they do in there own home. When the case reached the Supreme Court, the Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, stating that there was a right to privacy in a mans home. In Mapp vs. Ohio, Police received an anonymous tip that there was a bomber inside the residence of a Mrs. Mapp. They came to her house, and she refused them in without a search warrant. The police came back later, handcuffed Mapp, and found several items of obscene material throughout her house. The supreme court ruled in favor the Mapp, stating the right to privacy in ones home, and the guarantees that the fourth and fourteenth amendments have. What gives the court the right to base a decision on the right to privacy? "The Futile Pursuit of Happiness" by Jon Gertner was published in September of 2003. It is an essay that discusses the difference between how happy we believe we will be with a particular outcome or decision, and how happy we actually are with the outcome. The essay is based on experiments done by two professors: Daniel Gilbert and George Loewenstein. The experiments show that humans are never as happy as we think we will be with an outcome because affective forecasting and miswanting cause false excitement and disappointment in our search for true happiness. Gertner jumps right into his essay with examples. He repeatedly states that we are wrong to think that nice things will make us happy. His language starts out blunt and maybe even a little scornful for being so naà ¯ve. He tries to bring out a sense of disappointment in the reader by telling us that, basically, we can't be happy. This continues throughout the essay especially with his discussion of affective forecasting and miswanting. Following his introduction, Gertner spills into a discussion of affective forecasting. He uses real life examples to get his point across. Also, results from experiments done by Gilbert and Loewenstein were used to show that affective forecasting is a valid idea. This term is used to describe the inability of humans to predict how they will feel after a certain event takes place. The reason for this is that we don't realize that things become normal to us. The Justice System Of Licking County Essay - 1364 Words

Actions speak louder than words and when I hear the word justice I think â€Å"you do the crime, you do the time.† I personally have filed five, if not more, reports in the last thirteen months with the† Licking County Justice System.† Crimes including; criminal damaging (on more than one occasion), burglary, domestic violence, and several violations of a protection order. One would think that justice should have been served by now. However, the process continues, leaving me to feel nothing more than the justice system in Licking County is inefficient due to, new employees, lack of urgency, and poor communication skills. Beginning September 2015, my seventeen-year-old daughter arrived at my job to get lunch money. I could tell she had been crying so I went outside to talk to her. As I leaned against my car, that I allowed her to drive, I noticed a huge dent in the passenger’s side door. Reluctant to tell me, I already knew, her and the boyfriend had been fighting. I drove to the police station to make my first official report thirty that evening. Pictures were taken and the initial incident summary states â€Å"victims vehicle was kicked by an unknown suspect. The vehicle’s front door was caved in and had an obvious shoe print. Victim believes suspect 1 is the cause of the damage, but can not prove at this time.† Therefore, no charges were filed.
